For the past five years, A Day of Great Rejoicing has been a powerful gathering for men and women who have experienced incarceration and for the families who have walked that journey alongside them.
Each year, people from across Indiana come together for a day filled with hope, encouragement, and celebration. This special event creates a space where individuals can share their stories, express their gifts, and testify to the incredible things God has done in their lives beyond the walls of prison.
Throughout the day, guests enjoy powerful testimonies, poetry, rap, singing, drums, and music, along with meaningful fellowship with others who understand the journey of rebuilding life after incarceration.
Most importantly, it is a day where people are reminded that their past does not define their future, and that transformation, restoration, and new beginnings are possible.
This year’s event will be held on June 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Highland Park Theatre in Kokomo. Free food and drinks will be provided, and guests are welcome to bring a dish to share if they would like.
Whether you have been incarcerated, have a loved one who is currently in prison, or simply want to support and celebrate lives being changed, you are welcome here.
Come join us for a day of fellowship, music, testimony, and great rejoicing.
We have a support group on Facebook,
Beyond the Walls, that connects people with fellowship which is in strong effort to fight recidivism.
Another group initiated by Jamarcus Fields and doing great things is
Iron Sharpens Iron W.A.S.T. Inc (We Are Stronger Together). This is a faith-based nonprofit ministry operating in Indiana focused on community impact, mentorship, and outreach.
The group is connected with Christian ministry principles, inspired by the biblical idea that “iron sharpens iron” (Proverbs 27:17), meaning people grow stronger by encouraging and challenging one another.
